Course Objectives The aim of this course is to enable students to choose the appropriate statistical technique for their research questions, apply it in a computer program, and interpret the outputs.
Course Content The basic concepts related to statistics, organizing data, descriptive statistics, probability, probability distributions, parametric and nonparametric hypothesis testing, correlation and types, simple linear regression, multiple regression analysis, t-tests, variance analysis and application of these statistics in package programs.
Learning Outcomes (LO) At the end of this course, students; 1) will explain the basic concepts of statistics. 2) will enters the data into SPSS program, examines lost data and extreme values and makes sense of the data. 3) will discuss the concepts of sample distribution and normal distribution. 4) will calculate and interpret descriptive statistics and standard scores. 5) will summarize the data with appropriate graphics. 6) will make correlation, simple and multiple linear regression calculations and interpret the results of the analysis. 7) will establish the hypotheses appropriate to the purpose of the research / research question and test their hypotheses. 8) will knows in which situations non-parametric tests will be used, makes calculations related to them, and interprets the results of the analysis.
