Course Objectives |
Students taking the Character and Value Education course; 1. Knows the basic concepts related to character and value education, such as character, personality, value, virtue, morality, temperament, temperament, 2. Knows the influence of family, environment and school in character development and education, 3. Knows the meaning, classification and sources of values , 4. Understands the individual, social, cultural, religious, moral foundations of values and applies them to life, 5. Understands character and value education approaches and practices, 6. Perceives intercultural difference as wealth and adopts the culture of living together, 7. 8.Prioritizes the use of teaching methods and techniques in character and value education, 9. Can balance the crisis of values with education in modern and multicultural societies, 10.Human cultural development process with value education. 11. Knows that the research and applications of values education in Turkey, understanding and principles of unity and solidarity, 12. Character and value R knows that the teacher must be a consistent, honest and sincere model in education.

Course Content |
This course is taught to the students of the education faculty as a 2 hour theoretical course. It takes place as a teaching profession knowledge course in Education Faculties.

Learning Outcomes (LO) |
1. The attitudes of students change by the internalization of the characteristics of the aims defined,
2. Students who have taken character and values education are expected to be models of consistency, honesty and sincerity,
3. Students acquire a world view conforming to family, society and school discipline and thereby contribute to these variables,
4. Students grasp and internalize the foundations of family, society, culture, religion, morality and apply them to life.
5. Students make the expected basic concepts such as character, personality, values, virtue, morality, temperament a matter of principle and reflect it to their social circle as a role model.
6. Students share the related research and implementations of character and values education in Turkey, within an understanding of fraternity and solidarity, with their family, society and school.
7. Students put the related knowledge and findings of character and values education into practice |
