Course Objectives |
This master's course covers a broad perspective on research methods and patterns in psychology. The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge and skills about the basic concepts and techniques of quantitative and qualitative scientific methods. |
Course Content |
This course covers the design, implementation, data analysis and reporting processes of quantitative and qualitative scientific research. |
Learning Outcomes (LO) |
Students who complete this course and are successful will gain the following in terms of research methods:
1- Gaining in-depth knowledge about quantitative and qualitative research methods and designs (theory, method, research design, practical issues in research planning, measurement levels and sampling, data collection and data creation techniques, data analysis, preparation of research report, etc.),
2- Acquiring ethical principles and rules
3- Acquiring the ability to read, understand and criticize quantitative and qualitative research in psychology,
4- It is the acquisition of technical competence and skills related to the literature review of a research process, the design and implementation of the research by developing a research question and hypothesis, and the data analysis and presentation of it as a scientific report.
5- Gaining knowledge and critical perspective on current issues and trends in quantitative and qualitative research, especially in the fields of social psychology and health psychology
6- Gaining the ability to identify individual and social problem areas in the fields of social psychology and health psychology and to suggest research programs for these needs |
