Course Objectives The aim of this course is to introduce the main concepts of criminology. The main objective of the course is to improve the students understanding and comprehension of important contemporary issues in criminal justice and public policy.
Course Content In this course, students are introduced with the definition of crime and delinquency. Theoretical and empirical research (e.g, types of crime, crime control, punishment, social control, gender and crime, deviance and mass media, family violence, addiction to alcohol and drug)
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings; 1-Defining basic concepts and theories of criminology and sociology of crime 2-Having knowledge of the significant research methods that related to deviance and crime 3-Doing research about the problems that related with crime and deviance
