Course Objectives The aim of this course is teaching the fundamental principles and methods of criminal law.
Course Content Criminal law general provisions course includes general provisions section of Turkish Criminal Code. Application of Turkish Criminal Code, extradition, concept of crime generally, elements of crime, criminal capacity, intent and negligence, objective liability, compliance with law.
Learning Outcomes (LO) 1. Gaining basic knowledge on criminal law and its scope, history and evaluation. 2. Gaining academic knowledge on the resources of criminal law and how to use them in basic problems and gaining ability apply in daily life. 3. Gaining knowledge on the scope of criminal law provisions and extradition, particularly gaining basic knowledge on international conventions on extradition and gaining the ability to make arguments with specialists. 4. Gaining basic knowledge on general crime theory, crime and its elements, sanctions and security measures. 5. Gaining the ability to conduct an independent research on a basic problem of criminal law, gaining the ability to use basic outcomes which will fulfill the needs on judicial services. 6. Gaining the ability to solve pure legal problems by using the basic concepts, principles and methods of criminal law, sharing justified opinions with others. 7. Using the IT and communication technologies in the field of criminal law, pursuing contemporary improvements in legal services regarding the topic. 8. Gaining the ability to maintain the basic outcomes and competences acquired during the education in graduate degree, gaining responsibility as a professional who will be useful to the justice services, understanding the perpetuity of education.
