Course Objectives |
The primary purpose of this course is to enable students to understand foreign language teaching/learning and to explore the theories involved in teaching language skills (both as a means: to teach grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, etc. and as an end: training students in micro-skills). |
Course Content |
The first part of the course will focus on integrated approaches where all major skills and sub-skills are given as a whole. Topics such as CLIL, Task-based learning and 5E Model will be covered. The second part will focus on strategy training in micro-skills to help learners improve their autonomy. |
Learning Outcomes (LO) |
The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings;
LO1 - Preparing a lesson plan using the principles of Integrated Approaches to ELT;
LO2 - Preparing activities and tasks to improve micro-skills and sub-skills in ELT;
LO3 - Preparing activities and tasks to improve learner autonomy;
LO4 - Using the principles of 5E Model in an ELT class.
