Course Objectives This course aims to enable students to identify safety measures at work by acquiring knowledge and skills to protect against occupational accidents and occupational diseases also, occupational accidents and occupational diseases and to be evaluated with practices in the workplace by gaining knowledge about occupational health and safety legislation.
Course Content This course provides the basic concepts and historical development concepts of occupational health and safety; the duties and responsibilities of the workplace physician and occupational safety specialist; risk, danger, primary, secondary, it includes the concepts of tertiary protection; physical, chemical, biological and psychosocial risks; occupational health and safety legislation in the workplace; and applications in the workplace.
Learning Outcomes (LO) Students who have successfully completed this course; 1.To be able to understand the basic concepts and historical development of occupational health and safety 2.To be able to understand the duties and responsibilities of the workplace physician and occupational safety specialist 3.To be able to understand the concepts of risk, danger, primary, secondary, tertiary protection 4.To be able to know about physical, chemical, biological and psychosocial risks 5.To be able to learn about occupational health and safety legislation in their workplace and to evaluate it with applications in the workplace
