This course is thought to provide general information about inception and termination of debtor-creditor relationship. |
| Course Content |
Law of obligations regulates the debtor-creditor relationship between equal parties. |
| Learning Outcomes (LO) |
1. Understanding the place and importance of law of obligations, especially its close relationship with civil law and commercial law.
2. Identifying the concepts “obligation” and “debtor-creditor relationship”, gaining to ability to notice their differences, gaining ability to assess elements of debtor-creditor relationship, rights and obligations arising from that, and particular aspects of it.
3. Acknowledging the resources of obligations by examining the concepts “obligation and liability”, analyzing the problems arising from the source of obligation, and ability to resolve problems by using that knowledge.
4. Gaining the ability to assess the Turkish Code of Obligations methodically, and compare with ceased codes.
5. Gaining knowledge to resolve a law of obligations problem by legal instruments, gaining the ability apply the outcomes in practice.
6. Gaining the ability to conduct an independent research on a basic problem of law of obligations, gaining the ability to analyze the problem to argue with specialists, ability to maintain library research, and expose the outcomes.
7. Gaining the ability to use IT and communication technologies in the field of law of obligations, and particularly the ability pursue contemporary issues regarding judicial services.
8. Getting awareness to the global approaches regarding law of obligations, and learning a foreign language to conduct a research and make comparisons, and getting eagerness to improve that outcome.
9. Understanding the basic principles of law of obligations regarding limits of good faith and honesty rules on demand and fulfillment of obligation, powers arising from free will. Understanding the basic principles of law of obligations. Gaining the awareness to carry to out ethical and professional responsibility on the problematic areas of daily life.
10. Gaining the ability to maintain the basic outcomes and competences acquired during the education in graduate degree, being a professional who will contribute good to the judicial system, becoming awareness of the “perpetuity” character of education.
