Course Objectives |
This course examines economic and legal relations including International Banking law and the international banking market. It is aimed to explain the basic principles of international banking law and the functioning of the international monetary and financial system, and to gain the legal and economic aspects of international regulations. In this context, understanding the legal regulations, limits of capital movements and foreign exchange regimes in different countries are the main objectives of this course. |
Course Content |
Basic concepts of international banking law, differences from commercial law, discussion of banking activities and regulations, functioning of capital and money markets, types of banks, interbank market, Basel agreements and risks of the banking sector, etc. topics will be included. |
Learning Outcomes (LO) |
1. Explain the parties of International Banking Law. Define the basic concepts of International Banking Law and the international monetary system.
2. Learn about the functioning of the money market and the structure of the foreign exchange market. Explain the banking activities. Know about the Basel committee's
structure, procedures, regulations and decision-making mechanism.
3. Have information about the risks encountered in the banking sector. Know about Offshore Banking and explain its operation.
4. Have information about capital adequacy ratio and arbitrage transactions.
5. Discuss the problems regarding litigation within the framework of International Banking Law.
