Course Objectives This course aims to help its learners get the basic structures of the English language to communicate in real-life situations
Course Content This course has been designed to provide its learners the essential skills which meet their basic communication needs in the target language.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings: LO-1.to accomplish various language tasks which require integrated skills LO-2.to associate the lexical items provided within different contexts with their real-life experiences LO-3.to react to what they have listened to or read. LO-4.to cooperate with their peers while exchanging ideas in the target language. LO-5.to practice in the target language for real-life communication

1. Week UNIT 4(C/D)Eating Out-Breakfast Time(requests and offers,vocabulary concerning food and drink), countable and uncountable noun)
2. Week UNIT 5(A/B)-Three Generations (adjectives-past simple)- Past simple (regular/irregular verbs)
3. Week UNIT 5(C/D)- Four weekends-Competitions (showing interest; asking follow-up questions/ talking about weekend activities, making use of adjectives and intensifiers to make
4. Week UNIT 6(A/B) : grasping the vocabulary about internet,using past simple in questions and short answers; past time phrases, can/could expressing possibility)
5. Week UNIT 7(A/B): describing places using there is/there are, describing a house; asking about quantity: ‘How much…? How many…?’
6. Week UNIT 7(C/D): talking in a shop;things to buy, describing clothes using colors,plural nouns
7. Week UNIT 8(A/B): talking about actions in the workplace using present continuous, differentiating between the use of present continuous and present simple; talking about transports using different verbs or phrases.
8. Week UNIT 8(C/D): phrases used while talking on the phone,describing indoor and outdoor activities using adjectives and adverbs; reading an advert and a formal letter.
9. Week UNIT 9(A/B): using infinitive of purpose while talking about holiday activities, describing natural places using comparatives.
10. Week UNIT 9(C/D): describing what to do on a day out and talking about animals, using verb patterns like doing, would like to do
11. Week UNIT 10(A/B): Using expressing about staying fit and healthy in a context; imperatives and using should/shouldn’t to give advice as well as expressing frequency.
12. Week UNIT 10(C/D): talking about health, health problems, and treatment; describing weather conditions and seasons, reading a magazine article.
13. Week UNIT 11: Talking about New year’s resolutions using going to future tense; distinguishing between the use of might and going to, asking for and giving directions, grasping the meaning of collocations within a context: a phone conversation.
14. Week UNIT 12: using big numbers and making superlatives, deducing the use of present perfect in a context; talking about things and places at an airport.
