Course Objectives The aim is to consider the factors that affect educational activities in the school environment, which may originate from the student or the environment, and to examine how these may affect student mental health.
Course Content Child and adolescent development, mental health, factors affecting mental health, negative behaviors that may be seen in children and adolescents, coping with factors that may affect mental health at school, and intervention techniques for negative situations that may arise in the school environment.
Learning Outcomes (LO) 1.Defines mental health; describes the characteristics of mentally healthy individuals; Knows the criteria for normal and abnormal behavior. 2.Explains the genetic, biological and psycho-social factors affecting mental health. 3.Explains the views of various theoretical approaches on the causes and correction of emotional and behavioral disorders. 4. Knows the symptoms of various emotional and behavioral problems seen in children. 5.Explains the causes of various emotional and behavioral problems seen in children. 6. Describe the characteristics that make mental health different in childhood from adulthood. 7.Discuss recommendations for families and teachers on preventing and correcting various emotional and behavioral problems seen in children.
