Course Objectives Students taking this course can: Explain conceptual and theoretical contents related to program development; Can analyze curriculum and program development studies in Turkey through these concepts and theories.
Course Content Basic concepts, theoretical foundations of program development (historical, philosophical, psychological and social foundations), educational program design and models, program development process (planning, draft preparation, trial-evaluation, providing continuity to the program), new trends regarding educational programs (effective learning, multiple intelligences, collaborative learning, lifelong learning, constructivism, creative thinking, etc.).
Learning Outcomes (LO) 1 Explains the basic concepts of program development 2 Analyze the relationships between the elements of the training program 3 Explains the theoretical foundations of program development 4 Explains training program designs 5 Explains program development models in education 6 Compares the program development model used in Turkey with the models used in other countries 7 Prepares program development work plan 8 Realizes the importance of planning 9 Explains needs determination techniques 10 Uses techniques appropriate to the area where the need is determined 11 Realizes the importance of determining needs 12 Explains the elements that should be included in the program draft. 13 Explains the reasons for testing the program draft in the field. 14 Explain different program evaluation approaches 15 Evaluates a curriculum draft
