Course Objectives To introduce students to the key concepts and theories involved in studying the relationship between politics and the media…To highlight the history of political communication and information sources and examine the influence of mass communications on the development of democratic politics.
Course Content This course focuses on the relationship between the relationship of media, the political system, and the public.
Learning Outcomes (LO) By the end of this course students should be able to; 1) Give a critical account of, through discussion and written work, the political and social role of media 2) Observe that how communication takes place in social area 3) Comprehend effective propaganda methods and influence of media in political context 4) Evaluate the extent to which the media, the main source of political communication, meets democratic needs
