Course Objectives The aim of this course; to teach the knowledge of the basic concepts, rules and principles of Internal Medicine Nursing, to take roles and responsibilities in medical patient care, to ensure to use of problem solving and decision-making processes, to determine patient needs in chronic patients, to gain knowledge and skills to define potential risks.
Course Content This course covers the theoretical knowledge and principles of care for internal medicine care, treatment and rehabilitation.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who completed the course successfully will acquire the following: LO1. Define concepts and principles related to internal medicine. LO2. Determine patient needs and list possible risks and complications. LO3. Plan and implement care in accordance with the patient's condition. LO4. Use basic knowledge in the care of inpatients due to internal disease problems. LO5. Use problem-solving skills effectively in situations requiring nursing care. LO6. Use a fast and accurate decision-making process when necessary. LO7. Gain the ability to communicate well with the patient, his/her relatives, and health professionals. LO8. Make decisions based on evidence in patient care.
