Course Objectives To identify and define fundamental sociological concepts such as globalization, class, gender, race, ethnicity, culture, media, bureaucracy, and networks and to discover how the society in which individuals live in shapes social interaction.
Course Content To develop an understanding of how society, social structures and social processes fundamentally shape human behavior and how they influence everyday interactions in offices or other settings.
Learning Outcomes (LO) 1- Understanding the historical foundations of sociology, the scope of sociology and the differences between sociology and other social sciences 2- Defining fundamental social structures and understanding how they shape everyday interactions 3- Understanding how social structures and processes like globalization influence work and economic life
