For non-thesis master's degree it is necessary to graduate from nursing bachelor's degree.

Arrangements for the Recognition of Prior Learning
The rules for recognition of formal prior learning are well defined. A student who is currently enrolled in a Master's Degree programme in the same discipline at another institution and has successfully completed at least one semester, upon submitting all required documents before the deadline, may transfer to the Master's Programme at UFUK University upon the recommendation of the department administration and with the approval of the Administrative Committee of the Graduate School. The decision taken will also include eligibility for exemption from some course requirements of the graduate program.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to get a master's degree without thesis, it is compulsory to complete non-credit Project study with at least 30 local credits. The project study is non-credit according to the local credit system and is evaluated as “Successful” or “Failed”. In this program, a minimum of 60 ECTS credits, a GPA of at least 2.50 out of 4.00 is required.

Profile of the Programme
Master’s program trains Psychiatric Nursing, who have a full knowledge of the academic literature, and theoretical and practical knowledge about psychiatry nursing as well as research methodology and report writing; produce scientific studies and interpret scientific researches and seize the importance of lifelong learning and ethical values at the same time.

1-He/He recognizes the basic concepts related to the field of specialization.
2-He/She knows and can apply the basic roles and responsibilities, ethical principles and values of the psychiatric nurse.
3-He/She can valuate the problems and needs related to theoretical and applied fields.
4-He/She can use critical, creative thinking, problem solving skills and therapeutic communication techniques in field-specific nursing practices.
5- He/She can turn the knowledge he/she has into a skill to protect and develop individual, family and community mental health at primary, secondary and tertiary levels.
6-He/She can evaluate the strategies and policies related to the field of expertise.
7-He/She can make statistical analysis at the basic level and can conduct scientific research independently and publish it as an article/proclamation.
8-He/She can use field-specific technological tools and equipment.
9-He/She takes part in professional development and lifelong learning activities.
10-He/She can cooperate in interdisciplinary studies.

There is no transition to higher degree programs since a Master's Degree with Thesis is required in order to do a PhD.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Students are required to take a mid-term and final examination for course evaluation. The final grade is based on the mid-term examination grade and the final examination grade with the contribution of 40% and 60% respectively. To pass any course, a student must receive at least 60 out of 100. Students whose Cum GPA are at least 2.50 are considered successful. Students whose Cum GPA lower than 2.50 (CB) must retake the courses that they had CC grades.The assessment for each course is described in detail in "Individual Course Description".
