Course Objectives The aim of this course is to evaluate the individual with mental problems, to use counseling and assistance skills, to adapt the theories in the field of psychiatric nursing to the care plan, and to explain the methods of protecting, improving and curing mental health.
Course Content The content of this course consists of transferring the theoretical knowledge and skills taught in the Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing I course into clinical practice.
Learning Outcomes (LO) 1. Evaluates the data about individual, family and society in a comprehensive manner in line with the theoretical foundations, principles and standards of psychiatric nursing. 2. Carries out the care of the healthy/sick individual in accordance with the psychiatric nursing philosophy and standards of care. 3.Uses counseling and assistance skills. 4.Creates the therapeutic environment. 5.Acts towards changing responsibilities according to psychiatric treatment methods. 6.Uses therapeutic communication skills. 7. Applies psychotherapeutic interventions in line with his theoretical knowledge. 8. Evaluates the individual, family and society in terms of psychiatric risks and determines risky/special groups and creates appropriate care for them. 9. Develops national/international strategies and policies to improve and improve the quality of care for existing or potential problems observed during his/her mental health practices. 10.Uses effective interventions in psychiatric emergencies within the framework of ethical and legal issues.
