Course Objectives The aim of this course is to evaluate the individual with physiological or mental problems, to identify psychosocial problems, to use counseling and assistance skills for problems, to implement a care plan, and to explain methods that protect, improve and treat mental health.
Course Content The content of this course consists of transferring the theoretical knowledge and skills taught in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing 2 to clinical applications.
Learning Outcomes (LO) 1. Collects and evaluates data about individual, family and society in a comprehensive manner in line with the theoretical foundations, principles and standards of psychiatric nursing. 2. Caring for a healthy/sick individual in accordance with psychiatric nursing philosophy and standards of care. 3.Uses counseling and assistance skills. 4.Creates the therapeutic environment. 5. Adopts responsibilities that vary according to psychiatric treatment methods. 6.Uses therapeutic communication skills. 7. Applies psychotherapeutic interventions in line with his theoretical knowledge. 8. Evaluates the individual, family and society in terms of psychiatric risks and determines risky/special groups and provides appropriate care for them. 9. Identifies the psychosocial problems accompanying medical conditions and acts in cooperation between teams. 10.Plans and implements effective interventions in psychiatric emergencies within the framework of ethical and legal issues.
