Course Objectives In this grammar course students will develop their knowledge of the form, meaning, and use of English grammar structures at the upper intermediate and advanced level. These structures will help them understand and communicate better in social and academic situations
Course Content The relationship between language structures and lexical items, the attribution of meaning by means of these structures, analysis of language structures within the framework of a context so as to establish relations between form and text type, production of advanced level texts synthesizing these structures
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the following; LO1 - to have control over upper intermediate- and advanced-level structures in spontaneous, communicative speech and writing LO2 - to increase awareness of the form, meaning, and usage of target structures LO3 - to provide practice which will help students internalize the grammar LO4 - to increase ability to monitor one’s own and others’ language use LO5 - to provide opportunities for spontaneous, communicative use of grammar structures
