Course Objectives To hinder the losing of the actuality of teachers' knowledge and skills during the time spend in the profession of teaching obtained during the preservice education process particulary the knowledge and skills acquired in the field of instructional technology and material design depending on the changing and evolving field of technology, in order for the transfer of new developments in the field of technology to the teaching-learning process, to provide the knowledge and skills that will make make this tranfer happen, to provide teachers' professional development in terms of technology that teachers perhaps need the most and accordingly developing teaching materials.
Course Content Concepts related to instructional technology, features of a variety of instructional technology, the role and use of instructional technology in the teaching process, determination of the needs of the school and class technology, preparing and practicing out appropriate technology plans, developing two- and three-dimensional tools and materials through the use of instructional technology, development of teaching materials (worksheets, activities, overhead transparencies, slides, visual aids (VCD, DVD), computer-based tools) examination of educational software, various evaluation of teaching materials, Internet and distance learning, principles of visual design, studies on the effectiveness of teaching tools and material, the status of use of instructional technology in Turkey and the world
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings; LO1 – to know concepts related to instructional technology and the properties of a variety of instruction technology LO2 – to determine the role and use of instructional technology in teaching and the technological needs of school or class, to make appropriate technology planning and execution LO3 – to know th e status of use of instructional technology in Turkey and the world
