General Information
Ufuk University started education in 2002-2003 academic year. Ufuk University Medical Laboratory Techniques Program started education at associate degree level in 2007-2008 academic year. Individuals who will choose this program are expected to be interested in biology, chemistry and health sciences, want to take part in laboratory studies that require sensitivity and attention, and be able to work in closed environments (Laboratory).
The language of instruction in the program is Turkish.

Ufuk University Medical Laboratory program students are admitted by examination conducted by the center of student selection and placement center (OSYM)

Arrangements for the Recognition of Prior Learning
If the students who apply to our school apply with the grade transcript and course contents they received from other Higher Education institutions in Turkey or abroad, their credit and grade transfer requests are discussed and decided by the relevant board of directors. Compulsory English Preparation is not applied in this program.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students graduate from the program must pass all the courses in the program , and there should be no FF . Students in this program should provide a minimum of 120 ECTS credits and a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 .A further 30 business days of summer internship of 240 hours must be made .

Profile of the Programme
This program is a department established within the Vocational School of Health Services in order to train well-equipped technical personnel in hospital laboratories and clinics, research centers and institutes in our country. In laboratories working in conjunction with all clinics; correct preparation, correct diagnosis principle is applied. The importance of training personnel who can work with all kinds of body materials by mastering many newly developed techniques is obvious. It is more and more understood that the need for equipped technical personnel is increasing rapidly. This program trains Medical Laboratory technicians who can meet the need for equipped technical personnel.

1) Have basic scientific knowledge in the field of Medical Laboratory Techniques Program, know how to reach information in his professional life and have knowledge of evaluation.
2) Have basic knowledge of the normal functions of human systems, make necessary laboratory analyzes in the samples taken in the light of this information, and associate them with diseases.
3) Knows manual and automatic analysis methods in the Medical Laboratory and produces solutions for possible problems.
4) Have the knowledge to combine theoretical knowledge with practice.
5) Knows how to act in accordance with the legal regulations related to the field.

11) Takes safety precautions in the medical laboratory, applies personal safety rules and creates a safe laboratory environment.
12) Gains the ability to do regular physical activity for a healthy life and increase in work efficiency.
13) In the working environment; applies first aid and emergency care in accordance with the guide/directive in emergency situations.
14) Using the basic knowledge he has in the field of Medical Laboratory Techniques Program, he takes responsibility in a given task and carries it out individually and takes responsibility in working groups when necessary

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of the program can work as "Medical Laboratory Technician" in "all laboratories" within the health institutions and organizations in the public and private sectors, and in laboratories available in forensic medicine institutions.

Access to Further Studies
Students who graduate from our program can transfer to the departments of Biology, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, Genetics and Bioengineering, Nursing, Nursing and Health Services and Molecular Biology and Genetics.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Student's success in Health Services Vocational School is determined by an evaluation of the mid-term notes along with the final exam grade. Mid-term notes, consists of the notes depending on the midterm exam and course assignments, practices, practical work . Last assessment, are determined by the course instructor with one of the following letter grades,taking into the consideration of success level of all students taking the course
