Teaching consists of lectures, questions and answers, seminars, lab applications and practical studies and case studies (database designs). Practical work is done in groups or individually. It is compulsory to attend these events. |
Course Objectives |
With this course, it is aimed to give the student the competencies of performing advanced operations on the database, using the administrative functions of database management systems and servers. |
Course Content |
Course content:
Advanced concepts related to database management systems,
• Design / management of data models for database design,
• Query / transaction processing / optimization, normalization and association issues,
• Database system architectures / security, etc. To gain the necessary skills at the comprehension and application level of the subjects. |
Learning Outcomes (LO) |
After completion of this course the students will be able:
LO.1: To know database systems infrastructure and data models;
LO.2: Performing advanced data operations in the database;
LO.3: To do advanced table operations;
LO.4: Performing normalization processes;
LO.5: Performing other advanced operations;
LO.6: To do basic XML operations;
LO.7: Setting up and configuring the database;
LO.8: To manage, secure and maintain the database server. |
