Course Objectives |
The aim of this course is to provide students with the ability to think scientifically by reasoning, to design a scientific research to study the problems noticed in the educational settings, and to carry out a research and report the results. |
Course Content |
In this course, philosophy of scientific research, beginning concepts of scientific research methods, structure of a research, sampling techniques and sample size, data collection methods, surveys, data analysis, reporting and APA standards are the topics that are covered. |
Learning Outcomes (LO) |
1. Explain the aim of science and the ways of reasoning, distinguish the scientific knowledge from nonscientific one and have pozitivist point of view.
2. Transfer a problem that is noticed in their environment to scientific problem and operationalize it as a research question.
3. Select the appropriate data collection tools or methods for the variables in a research question.
4. Identify the population and sample of a research question and the size of the sample.
5. Recognize research desing
6. Recall the APA standards and employ them when writing a research report.
