Medical Imaging Techniques


General Information

Ufuk University started education in the 2002-2003 academic year. Ufuk University Medical Imaging Techniques Program started education at associate degree level in 2011-2012 academic year. Students who want to study in this program are expected to be responsible and careful people who enjoy working with tools and machines, are interested in mechanics, can use their hands and eyes in coordination.

Department language is Turkish.

Admission Requirements

Students should pass the centrally administered entrance exam conducted by Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM).

Arrangements for the Recognition of Prior Learning

If the students who apply to our school apply with the grade transcript and course contents they received from other Higher Education institutions in Turkey or abroad, their credit and grade transfer requests are discussed and decided by the relevant board of directors. Compulsory English Preparation is not applied in this program.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

A student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses meeting a minimum of 120 ECTS credits requirement, have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no FF grades and required to participate in a 30 days of internship programme.

Profile of the Programme

Today, technological and medical advances , in line with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of Radiology , Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy Departments have gained immense importance . Medical Imaging Techniques Program educates future technicians , disease diagnosis and treatment used in the Radiology field ( Conventional and Digital Radiology, Fluoroscopy, Digital substraksiyonanjiograf , Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging) at the same time Nuclear Medicine ( SPECT , PET, PET -CT) and radiotherapy ( simulator , Linear Akselatörvb ) they receive education and training in line with the knowledge and communication skills , employ emerging technologies in the field to implement the technical equipment , the knowledge expression ability , eye and hand coordination comfortable can use a radiologist and other medical personnel and co-ordination can provide qualified technical staff is aimed to be .
     Students who graduate from this program, " Medical Imaging Techniques Program " Associate 's degree will be awarded . Graduates, university , government and private health institutions will be able to work .

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduates of the program, public and private sector health institutions and organizations located within the "radiological examinations in that section," can work as a Medical Imaging Technician.

Access to Further Studies

Students entering the vertical pass exams set by the YÖK and universities offering four-year bachelor of education "Biology" and "Nursing Services" sections can be completed through the license.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Student's success in Health Services Vocational School is determined by an evaluation of the mid-term notes along with the final exam grade. Mid-term notes, consists of the notes depending on the midterm exam and course assignments, practices, practical work . Last assessment, are determined by the course instructor with one of the following letter grades,taking into the consideration of  success level of all students taking the course

Graduation Requirements

Students to graduate must be passed all the courses in the program and there should be no , FF, FF1 and FF2 grade. Students in this program should  provide a minimum of 120 ECTS credits and a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. In addition, the summer internship of 240 hours to 30 business days need to be made​​.
