Course Objectives Students are provided with information about the subjects of Hospital Information System’s content, stucture, and functioning.
Course Content After the introduction of hardware and software infrastructure, the course includes information about these systems that are built on structure and function of relational database. Next, the detailed structure and functioning of these systems are examined in a sample application program. PACS, medical application of decision support systems, and clinic information system are also studied.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings; 1- will be able to know about the technological infrastructure and database management systems in hospitals 2- will be able to have an idea about database management systems and structure and functioning information system parallel to the process containing the procedure of outpatient and inpatient, 3- will be know about the medical decision support systems.
