Course Objectives |
Fundamentals of attachment theory, its assessment, and its relationship with life-long development and psychopathology. |
Course Content |
In this course, first of all, the foundations of attachment theory, its historical development and current scientific findings are explained. Then, information is given about the role of attachment in lifelong development and the etiology of psychopathology. Finally, different methods and tools used in attachment assessment in different developmental stages are introduced in practice. |
Learning Outcomes (LO) |
The students who attend the course and are successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings;
1- Recognizes the foundations of attachment theory, its historical development and the critical researches that left footprints in the literature,
2- Explains the factors that lead to individual differences in attachment,
3- Determines the relationship of attachment with lifelong development and psychopathology,
4- Recognizes attachment assessment methods and devices,
5- Critically compares attachment assessment methods and devices,
6- Evaluates attachment using different methods and tools. |
