Course Objectives Introducing psychoanalytic concepts thus helping students to grasp the ideas of unconcious, defense mechanisms, topographic and structural models of the mind and many other psychoanalytic concepts.
Course Content Beginning with Sigmund Freud, contribution of many psychoanalytic thinkers such as Anna Freud, Heinz Hartmann, Wilfred Bion, Melanie Klein, D. Winnicott and many others are discussed. The practice of psychoanalysis is also introduced.
Learning Outcomes (LO) 1- To understand the human mind from the perspective of psychoanalysis. 2- To understand the diversity in psychoanalytic theory. 3- To understand the contribution of psychoanalysis in understanding the formation of psychopathology. 4- To get familiar with the application of psychoanalytic theory in psychotherapy. 5-To understand the human development from the perspective of psychoanalytic theory.
