Course Objectives The aim of this course is to apply the measurement tools used in the field of vocational guidance and counseling to evaluate the results of measurement tools and to discuss this with the counselee to examine the occupations to develop activity for vocational guidance and to gain knowledge and skills related to application and evaluation of this activity.
Course Content Selection of the schools for practice Interview and coordination with the school counselor & activities planning Prereading about the activities, material preparation & preparing and structuring group activities Conducting 7 different vocational guidance activities Reporting on the activities
Learning Outcomes (LO) After taking this course students should; 1. Have a knowledge of information giving methods in vocational guidance and counseling. 2. Get to know, conduct and assess the profiles of tests and inventories commonly used in vocational guidance and counseling. 3. Conduct group counseling activities in vocational guidance and counseling. 4. Conduct vocational guidance and counseling sessions with students about vocational choice in the light of relevant test/intentory results.

Week Topics
1. Week Introduction and presentation of course definition and requirements
2. Week Theoretical course, acquiring course books, selection of the schools for practice, first interview with the school counselor on projected activities, getting suggestions and feedback from the school counselor.
3. Week Presentation on “Factors effecting vocational choice”. This presentation will be produced by students based on unique (in original and distinguished forms) literature content. Besides, KDE scale (10&11th grades) will be presented. It is advised to apply the scale to 2nd and 3rd grade classes.
4. Week Practice, report and submission. After applying KDE, ability, interest and value profiles of the class will be reported for every single student. Then a one-hour “Group counseling” session will be conducted to the relevant class on this general profile distrubition of a specific class. This activity will also be reported. Assignments will be submitted (1st ASSIGNMENT).
