Course Objectives It is aimed at having understanding of what it is Special Education Programs and what happened in Special Education.
Course Content The discussion of the issues about basic principals and concepts of special education, individuals with special education needs and their characteristics, contemporary special education practices and the important points that are need to be taken in to consideration while working with individual who needs special education is made in the context of this course.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings; 1. could be able to explain the aims of Special Education. 2. could be able to indentify the basic principles of Special Education. 3. could be able to classify the individuals who need the inclusive education. 4. could be able to explain individualized education programs. 5. could be able to understand early childhood approaches. 6. could be able to distinguish special families. 7. could be able to relate special education with family models. 8. could be able to express transition strategies in special education.
