Course Objectives The goal of this course is to help the canditates of counselors know themselves, comprehend the importance of verbal and nonverbal bahaviors in interpersonal relations; gain the skills of active listening,responding,asking questions and conflict resolution.
Course Content Description of interpersonal relations, models and elements of communication and their characteristics, active listening and feedback, factors that prevent interpersonal relations (e.g source, channel, receiver), factors that facilitate communication, the role and usage of emotions in communication, conflict and prevention of conflict in communication, important things in student-teacher-parent communication ; communication exercises.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings; 1. To comprehend the importance of interpersonal relations 2. To be able to explain models of interpersonal relations and factors that prevent communication 3. To know himself/herself 4. To learn about positive and negative communications 5. To gain the skills of active listening, responding and asking questions 6. To be able to expresss nonverbal forms communication and comprehend the importance of nonverbal communication 7. To be able to explain the differences between passive , aggressive and assertive behaviors 8. Conflict in interpersonal relations, to gain the skills of conflict resolution
