Course Objectives Objectives of this course are; teaching students basic themes of counseling and guidance and preparing them for the oncoming counseling and guidance lectures as well as contributing their vocational and professional identity as psychological counselors.
Course Content Basic concepts and principles of psychological counseling and guidance, history of guidance, delivery models of guidance. Methods of research and assessment, process of counseling, theories of counseling. Ethics and legal concerns.
Learning Outcomes (LO) After taking this course students should; 1. Learn basic concepts, principles and historical development of psychological counseling and guidance 2. Have a general knowledge of theories and delivery models 3. Comprehend counseling process and skills and qualities required 4. Realize contemporary issues and the projected future of in psychological counseling and guidance
