Course Objectives The aim of this course is to make students proficient in four English language skills (intermediate level).
Course Content In the course titled “Foreign Language IV” English grammar rules (intermediate level) and practices aiming at making students proficient in four language skills are studied.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attend the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings: 1. know English grammar rules (intermediate level). 2. get proficient in four English language skills (intermediate level).

2. Week Unit 1 (Character) – Previewing Reading: “Are you a natural leader?” - “The hero within” Writing: Writing topic sentence. Describing a hero. Grammar: The simple present tense
3. Week Unit 2 (Time) – Identifying the author's purpose, Skimming Reading: “A matter of time” - “What time is it?” Writing: Undestanding sentence patterns. Describing how to achieve a goal Grammar: infinitves&gerunds
4. Week Unit 3 (Home) – Highligting, Annotating Reading: “Home is where the heart is” Grammar: There is/ are(+ quantifier) + noun
5. Week Unit 3 (Home) – Developing critical thinking Reading: “Home automation” Writing: Brainstorming word maps, describing your home
