Course Objectives This course aims to equip teacher candidates with the innovative use of new technologies in foreign language teaching.
Course Content This course deals with innovations in learning technologies for English Language Teaching. It deals with the following contexts of language learning: primary, secondary and adult learners. It also deals with the following specialist areas: Business English, English for Specific Purposes and English for Academic Purposes, and finally the assessment of language using technology. Each topic embeds a number of real-life case studies into a framework of research. The deals with some of the developments in the field, and a wide range of technologies is covered.
Learning Outcomes (LO) At the end of this course students will acquire the following: LO1. Innovative use of ICTs in foreign language teaching, LO2. New developments in methodology, LO3. Modern approaches to course and materials design, and LO4. 21st century language theory in FL teaching.
