Course Objectives This course aims to equip teacher candidates with the innovative use of ICTs in foreign language teaching, new developments in methodology, approaches to course and materials design, and language theory in FL teaching.
Course Content This course includes content related to innovative methods of foreign languages teaching, e-learning, learning technologies and new models of teaching foreign languages, developing communicative competence through internet and digital technologies, blended learning, active learning methods in teaching foreign languages, project work, challenges and innovation in communicative competence assessment, 21st century teachers, modernizing traditional foreign language course books, content and language integrated learning, course and materials design in language teaching, the method of cognitive modeling in teaching English as a second language, intercultural communication and intercultural communicative competence.
Learning Outcomes (LO) At the end of this course students will acquire the following: LO1. Innovative use of ICTs in foreign language teaching, LO2. New developments in methodology, LO3. Modern approaches to course and materials design, and LO4. 21st century language theory in FL teaching.
