Course Objectives |
The aim of the course is to introduce the modern translation theories and concepts and to increase the awareness of
students on the translation problems and similarities and differences between English and Turkish with the help of
various translated texts |
Course Content |
The course will be given in two parts, theory and practice. Translation deals with both the process and the product.
Hereby, the course content is created to teach the scientific approach that is also expected in the translation practice |
Learning Outcomes (LO) |
The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings;
LO1 – to know the basic translation theories and concepts
LO2 - to have the awareness and sensibility on the similarities and differences of English-Turkish
LO3 - to be able to separate the topics on structures of translation (meaning, practice, style, etc.) |
