Course Objectives Learning different essay types and writing techniques
Course Content Critical thinking ability, deduction through inductive and deductive techniques and advanced reading sub-skills such as reading between the lines; examination of the information in reading texts, comparing with considering factors such as totality, consistency and layout and writing essays as a response with a critical and merging approach, producing texts of various essay types such as contrastive, categorical, cause and effect and discussion, library and internet scanning, creating references.
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings; LO1 – Using the critical thinking ability which is one of the advanced sub-skills LO2 - Understanding inductive and deductive techniques and reading between the lines LO3 – Writing essays with a critical approach by analyzing the information of reading texts LO4 - Writing essays of various essay types by considering factors such as totality, consistency and layout
