Course Objectives The aim of this course is to make the English teacher candidate understand the concepts of method, approach and technique in foreign language teaching, their differences and the importance of these concepts in English Language Teaching.
Course Content Basic topics and processes in English Language Teaching (ELT), the differences between the concepts method, approach and technique and the importance of these concepts in English language teaching; fundamental methods and approaches: Grammar-Translation, Direct Method, Audio-Lingual Method, Silent Way, Community Language Teaching, Desuggestopedia, Natural Approach
Learning Outcomes (LO) The students who attended the course and were successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings; LO1 – to know the difference between method, approach and technique concepts LO2 - to evaluate the importance of the concepts in English Language Teaching
