Learn basic techniques and cytological samples |
Course Content |
This course includes; defines and implements the basic methods of preparation of gynecologic cytology and of non-gynecologic cytologic material, explains the basic concepts of gynecologic and non-gynecologic exfoliative cytology, defines and applies the techniques of liquid-based and convantional cytology, defines methods for routine cytopathologic staining (PAP, MGG, HE), defines and applies the techniques of fine-needle aspiration and the preparation of fine-needle aspiration material, defines and applies advanced techniques (immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, insıtu-hibridization)in cytopathology, describes the quality control in cytology. |
Learning Outcomes (LO) |
At the end of this course; Students will perform the followings:
1. Define and implements the basic methods of preparation of gynecologic cytology material
1.1 Explains the basic concepts of gynecologic exfoliative cytology
2. Define the basic methods of preparation of non-gynecologic cytologic materials and implements
2.1 Explains the basic concepts of non-gynecologic exfoliative cytology
3. Define and applies the techniques of liquid-based cytology. 4. Define methods for routine cytopathologic staining (PAP, MGG, HE)
5. Define and applies the techniques of fine-needle aspiration
5.1 Makes the preparation of fine-needle aspiration material.
6. Define and applies advanced techniques (immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, insıtu-hibridization)in cytopathology
7. Describes the quality control in cytology |
