Course Objectives Transferring information about the foundation stage of the Republic of Turkey, the Turkish Understanding the fundamental nature of the revolution and adopting, young people have the consciousness of history is aimed.
Course Content This course examines the establishment process of Turkish Republic, principles, of Atatürk and Turkish revolution and political affairs after Atatürk's period.
Learning Outcomes (LO) LO1- To be able to know and analyze the modernization movements realized by Atatürk's reforms. LO2- To comprehend the principles of Turkish Foreign Policy in Atatürk Period and to learn the developments in Turkish foreign policy in that period. LO3- To know the principles of Atatürk's Principles and to comprehend its importance. LO4- Turkey to assess the Second World War, the consequences of war and the transition to multi-party life to understand the changes created in Turkey. LO5- To have knowledge about the political, military and social events in recent Turkish history.

1. Week Atatürk's life.
2. Week An Overview of the Turkish Revolution in the Atatürk Period: Law, Education and Culture, Revolutions in the Field of Economy, Regulations on Social Life.
3. Week Turkey's Foreign Policy in Atatürk's Period: Greek-Turkish relations, Turkish-French, Turkish-English, Turkish-Italian, Turkish-Soviet Relations, Mosul Question, Relations with Arab Countries.
4. Week Before the Second World War Turkish Foreign Policy: Turkey's entry to the League of Nations, the Balkan Entente, Montreux (Straits) Convention, Sadabad Pact, Hatay Problem.
5. Week Overview of Atatürk's Principles: Republicanism, Nationalism, Populism, Statism, Secularism and Revolutionism.
6. Week İsmet İnönü Period: Second World War, Turkish Foreign Policy, Domestic Political Developments.
7. Week Transition to Multi-Party Life after the Second World War, Democratic Party Period, Korean War.

9. Week 27 May 1960 Military Intervention and National Unity Committee, Political Developments after Military Intervention, 12 March 1971 Memorandum and After.
10. Week 12 September 1980 Military Intervention and Developments in the Aftermath.
11. Week Cold War Period: Turkish Foreign Policy between 1945-1960.
12. Week Cold War Period: Turkish Foreign Policy Between 1960-1980, 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation.
