Course Objectives Transferring information about the foundation stage of the Republic of Turkey, the Turkish Understanding the fundamental nature of the revolution and adopting, young people have the consciousness of history is aimed.
Course Content This course examines the establishment process of Turkish Republic, principles, of Atatürk and Turkish revolution and political affairs after Atatürk's period.
Learning Outcomes (LO) LO1- Evaluates Atatürk's life LO2- Knows the modernization movements that took place with Atatürk's Revolutions and evaluates their meaning and importance. LO3- Explains the developments in Turkish foreign policy in the Atatürk Period and understands its principles. LO4- Knows the principles of Atatürk's Principles, evaluates the importance. LO5- Understands the attitude of Turkey in the Second World War, evaluates the results of the war for Turkey. LO6- Understands the change created by the transition to a multi-party system in Turkey. LO7- Evaluates the political, military and social events in the recent (1950-1980) Turkish History.

1. Week Atatürk's life.
2. Week Revolution movements in the field of law, education and culture in the Atatürk period.
3. Week Revolution movements in the field of economy and social life in the Atatürk period.
4. Week Turkey's Foreign Policy in Atatürk's Period:Turkish-Greek relations, Turkish-French, Turkish-Italian, Turkish-Soviet Relations, Turkish-English Relations and Mosul Question.
5. Week Turkey's entry to the League of Nations, the Balkan Entente, Montreux (Straits) Convention, Sadabad Pact, Hatay's Joining the Homeland.
6. Week Overview of Atatürk's Principles: Republicanism, Nationalism, Populism, Statism.
7. Week Overview of Atatürk's Principles: Secularism and Revolutionism.
8. Week İsmet İnönü Period (1938-1950) - Second World War (1939-1945).
9. Week Developments in Turkey's Domestic and Foreign Policy after the Second World War and Transition to Multi-Party Life (1945-1950).
10. Week Democratic Party Era (1950-1960).
11. Week May 27, 1960 Military Intervention, Adoption of the 1961 Constitution and Domestic Political Developments.
