Course Objectives |
To introduce the basic concepts and issues about the selection and use of psychological tools within the scope of the clinical psychological assessment and to acquaint the most commonly used assessment tools in clinical psychology. |
Course Content |
At first, the requirements of an accurate psychological assessment in accordance with the principles of professional ethics are emphasized. Additionally, the most commonly used assessment tools in clinical research and practice (sentence completion tests, Rorscach, TAT, projective drawings, and MMPI) are introduced focusing on the purpose, development, administration, scoring, and interpretation. |
Learning Outcomes (LO) |
The students who attend the course and are successful at the end of semester will acquire the followings;
1- Comprehends the description of psychological assessment and how both the term and the use of assessment device change in history,
2- Defines the psychometric properties necessary for the appropriate use of psychological tests,
3- Adopts ethical principles for the selection and use of psychological tests,
4- Recognizes common tests, their psychometric properties, and usage in Clinical Psychology domain,
5- Implements (administer, score, and interpret) the MMPI. |
